Social Bird

we don't mess around

Welcome to Social Bird. We're here to ruffle some feathers, but when it comes to food we don't mess around.

We're passionate about our local community and are honoured to work with amazing local businesses and suppliers to make our mouthwatering menu truly something special - if we do say so ourselves.

We are committed to providing a sustainable and ethical menu while supporting the local community as best we can. That is our promise. Take a look at some of our amazing suppliers below.

We care about where our food comes from

Soanes Poultry

Fresh from the Yorkshire Wolds, our birds are reared by the Soanes family. For four generations they have been dedicated to providing traceable, sustainable and responsible farming with high animal welfare standards. The result of this welfare-rich life is award-winning, firm-textured, tasty and succulent chicken that tastes like chicken used to.

Newcastle Gin Company

Hadrian Border Brewery

Based on the banks of the Tyne, Hadrian Border Brewery are experts in creating the finest locally brewed cask and bottled ales. Taste the brewers dedication to the craft in every sip of their crisp and clear beers.

Brewed locally and ready to taste for yourself in our bar and restaurant.

Northumberland Cheese Company

Since 1984 Mark Robertson has been making farmhouse cheeses in the heart of Northumberland, starting with a small flock of sheep and a ewe's milk cheese which was a resounding success with the locals.

Although they have grown you can still rest assured that every mouthful of our cow's milk cheeses can be traced back to the milk of Northumberland farms, and the goats milk to a single herd in Yorkshire.

Jeans Jams

Jean's love affair with making jams started in 2001 from her kitchen in Newcastle upon Tyne. 20 years on and her hand-made, award-winning products are now enjoyed all across the country.

Using only the best quality ingredients with no preservatives, Jeans Jams are renowned for their jams, marmalades, curds and chutneys, bursting with flavour!
